Road crash site to get more warning signs installed around houses
The first signs were installed around houses after a recent house fire in Wellington.
WATERFORD council has installed dozens of signs around houses and businesses around the city to help identify dangerous conditions such as overcrowded cars, overflowing homes and unsanitary conditions.
The signs were put up to warn people about areas with dangerous conditions.
The council's director of risk and safety for Wellington District Council, Simon Roberts, said the signs were taken down once the house fire happened on October 9.

​It wasn't the first fire to hit the city since the beginning of the year.
The city has increased its emergency services capacity in several areas of the city such as South Hill, Central, Eastern and South-East Wellington.
In some ways, Wellington's fire warning signs come under the category of city work.
"We get a lot of complaints when it comes to the city warning signs, it's definitely a priority for us when it comes to this."

It was all an effort to get the city back on track.
In Wellington's CBD, a sign warning of an imminent fire has been posted up there twice since it was taken down on Oct 9.
Council issued around 15 warnings from 8pm to 5am in all districts.
The first sign was placed around the front of the CVS Superstore on North St, south of Wellington station.
The sign said the building was "unsafe".
The next sign was placed around the back of the CVS on North St, south of River St, and was in an area under a building that was known for overcrowding.
The city issued another six warning signs around the house next door at 8pm but that sign was taken down by 5am.
City council said that while most of the warning signs weren't about serious fire dangers, signs about safety and the importance of staying indoors were all up for public comment from now until mid-November.
Roberts said the next step was to ensure there were enough signs to encourage residents to come forward to report unsafe conditions.
In Wellington, there are also signs posted near the river, at the entrance of the Central Business District, and signs around homes.
Roberts said council was currently asking people to provide photos of the signs.

Power surge jolts telstra workers in brisbane suburbs, damaging power lines

A surge on Saturday morning disrupted services to parts of Sydney, disrupting power lines and putting thousands of customers in critical condition.
The power went out at about 8:15am at several lines between East Granville and East Granville, with many customers in danger of losing their connections.
It was followed by an afternoon surge as customers suffered from the hot temperatures.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection said the outage was a result of "serious structural damage" to a house near East Granville and "a significant number of wires were damaged".
"We're going to take this incident very seriously and we're doing everything possible to determine what the cause of the incident is," she said.
Police and ambulance service workers had to cut through the rubble, trying to free stranded motorists from the city of Sydney.
An hour after the electrical problem was first reported, power was again restored to a portion of service in North Beach.
But this is the area where some residents are thought to have been left without electricity after their power cables were severed.
